About the role:
The Supervisor role is essential to the efficient running of the depot. Reporting directly to the Depot Operations Manager, you will also work closely with other supervisors from alternate depots, managing scopes of work and overseeing depot stock control. This will assist the Operations Manager with the programming of works and in the managing of all resources relevant to the works. You will supervise the installation of sector scheme 12a sites and will implement policies, with priority to Health and Safety issues. Leading by example you will ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of employees under your control.
Record keeping contributes largely to the role. In return, this will assist the Commercial team by ensuring accurate records of all operations are captured at each step, in relation to plant and labour. Producing operational documents and drawings for various schemes, such as method statements, risk assessments and TM Layout drawings will also be under your remit, in addition to the management of fleet records relating to the Area 3 O Licences and HGV fleet.
At the start of each shift you will deliver toolbox talks, safety alerts and any other relevant correspondence. This will ensure that your team is fully briefed and understand what is expected of them. Whilst undertaking your role, you will build solid relationships with both colleagues, sub-contractors and clients and ensure that any issues are raised and acted upon efficiently and effectively.
You will also be expected to undertake site inspections and audits to improve and maintain standards. Health and Safety is at the forefront of all our operations. We ensure adherence to UKAS National Highways Sector Schemes at all times.
As and when required you will also be expected to follow the accident and incident reporting process, carry out investigations, and collate all evidence, producing statements and reports, accurately and efficiently.
The role is 60 hours per week Monday - Friday (nights) and based from our Winchester depot.
A highly motivated individual, with extensive knowledge of the Traffic Management industry, you will be pro-active and be able to act safely and efficiently at all times. As you know things happen unexpectedly all the time in this industry and no two hours are the same, as such you need to be keenly attentive - adapting to ever changing situations will come naturally. You will be an excellent communicator and team worker and be proficient in the use of a PC and the use of Microsoft office software. You will have proven experience of leadership and demonstrate qualities which highlight where you have lead by example.
- Previous demonstrable, practical experience in the TM Industry with involvement in both 12A and 12B works
- Hold a current Lantra 12A Foreman Qualification
- Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft Office suite of software, able to work within an ERP system (inc tablet based working crews)
- Attended and passed IOSH Managing Safely/SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and experience of leading a team in a comparable role. Leads by example
- Full UK driving licence
- IPV Driver
- Excellent communicator and team Worker. Confidently able to deliver presentations to the workforce
- Highly motivated
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
- Hold a current TSCO Qualification
- Hold 12C Supervisor Qualification
- Hold 12D RLTMO Qualification
- Competent in the use of TM design CAD Software (Cadaptor Cone)
