Southern home-based role with occasional travel in the south and midlands

About us:

Chevron Traffic Management specialise in the provision of temporary traffic management services throughout the UK, providing physical and digital traffic controls to ensure that schemes of work are carried out safely, whilst ensuring that our colleagues and the general public are safe.

Managing traffic for organisations working within Utilities, Rail, High Speed Network (motorways), Local Authorities and Events (Glastonbury, Tour de France etc) we place huge emphasis on our performance and ability to deliver, meet and exceed our clients expectations. We give expert support from the consultation and design phase, right through to work completion and sign-off.

As a business and now a Group, we have been on a major growth trajectory over the past 20 months, which has seen Chevron swell from 570 employees to a Group of c1300 colleagues and our location footprint move from 12 to 23. This development has been achieved both through organic growth and acquisition of affinity businesses, including a move into the Scottish TM sector. It is fair to say that our excitement to deliver on our future opportunities is one supported through our transformation plans and the cohesion of the brands and additional expertise into our 'One Group.

The Role:

You will join our team at an amazing time as we continue our journey to support an evolving business and expand our existing HR products and services across the Group. We achieved a tremendous amount together as a team last year and there are several exciting new projects for us to deliver in 2021.

Your role will be to provide pragmatic, customer-focused and legally compliant HR advice to enable the resolution of issues. You will also play a significant part in building the capability of our leaders to manage HR matters through coaching and learning events, and you will be involved in supporting the People Team with ad hoc projects such as policy development, well-being initiatives etc. As an HR professional, you will be encouraged to identify issues and solutions that help take the business forward.

About You:

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an established HR Advisor to enhance the service we provide to the business and help embed the People Team offering. You will have significant and current ER experience ideally gained within a blue collar environment, as well as experience coaching managers in ER matters. What is key is your ability to identify the problem and provide an appropriate and pragmatic solution, and to use your initiative to identify when action is required. You must be an effective communicator who displays confidence and credibility, able to influence senior leaders and demonstrate flexibility with the end user always in mind.
