We are actively recruiting for a Design Technician based from our Middleton depot.

About the role:

The Design Technician role is a key role within our business, supporting and reporting directly into the Area 10 Framework Manager. You will assist with the programming and delivery of engineering activities and produce designs for sign faces and then liaise with the contract and manufacture to agree design. You will also produce operational documents and drawings for various schemes, to agreed deadlines. The drawings you complete will all conform to the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, Construction Design and Management Regulations, TSRGD and Traffic Signs Manuals.

You will also liaise with operational staff and clients to establish requirements, resolving discrepancies and submitting relevant information. Whilst completing your role you will be required to follow company processes and will be required to work with other staff from within the wider Chevon business. You will be required to implement Chevrons Health, Safety and Environmental policies and you will promote at all levels.

About You:

A highly motivated individual with the ability to adapt to changing situations. You will be confident and able to manage your own workload as well as work well within the team. You will be able to work to strict/ agreed deadlines, to ensure all drawings are completed for all schemes when required. You will possess knowledge of the TM industry with involvement in both 12AB and 12D works and will have AutoCAD experience. The successful candidate will work towards Engineering Council registration via the Institute of Highways Engineers Temporary Traffic Management Engineering course. This will be completed over the course of 2 years.

Qualifications & Skills:

To be considered for this role you will be required to hold the below qualifications:

• Previous demonstrable, practical experience in the TM Industry with involvement in both 12A and 12B and 12D works
• Competent in the use of TM design CAD Software (Cadaptor Cone)
• AutoCAD experience
• Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft Office suite of software
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent communicator and team Worker
• Highly motivated
• Ability to adapt to changing situations
• Background in design or preparation of design information including drawings
• Good knowledge of TSRGD and Chapter 8


Desirable:

• Hold a current Lantra 12A Foreman or TSCO Qualification
• Hold a current Lantra 12D M7 Qualification
• Have completed the TTME Foundation level course and be registered with the IHE
